Picture taken at Ft. Devens. This is one of the few pictures that survived: I bought a motor cycle while at GoodFellow AFB, and rode it from Texas to Ft. Devens (in Massachussetts). On the way the camera was in a bag that was a little too close to the engine exhaust. The camera got overheated and most of the pictures were ruined(including ones yet to be taken).

Ft. Devens was just outside of Lowell, Massachussetts, about 40 miles west of Boston. We were there from about the middle of October 1975, till the middle of December 1975, maybe 9-10 weeks. This was where we had tactical training. We had classroom training on the radio intercept equipment (radios, tape recorders, radio direction finders), field training on same, field training (camping out :-) on setting up antennas, tents, barbed wire, and latrines. We also had some field exercises involving escape and evasion, and a field problem where we were to 'infiltrate' enemy territory, capture an observation post, recover intelligence items, and bring the enemy soldier back to camp. Fun stuff, if you liked to play army and camp out as a kid :-).
