These are pictures taken while I studied Russian at the Defense Language Institute, in Monterey, California. They span September of 1974 through July of 1975.

While there I was privileged to be a dancer in the dance troupe of the Russian Cultural Arts Group. There was also a Balalaika Orchestra and Russian Chorale. We performed, in native costumes, for each incoming Russian language class, as well at various places around the Monterey Peninsula. At one point I had some pictures of me in costume, but, I think they've been lost. The dance pictures were probably taken the last month I was at DLI, as the sailor and the lieutenant were late additions as I recall.
